Government’s master plan to keep youth off streets unveiled

Youth of Westonaria engage in activities for their own good.

The Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation (DSACR) has come up with a master plan to keep the youth off the streets and away from the bad things in life.

This after its members hosted a series of indigenous games at the Westonaria Sports Complex in Randfontein recently.

According to the MEC of the department, Molebatsi Bopape the purpose of the event was to have the youth engage in productive activities aimed at keeping them off the streets.

“We are enthralled by the participation in these games that serve to unite communities and uphold the authenticity of being South African,” Bopape says.

“Therefore, we commit ourselves to support these games continuously as they are essential for preserving our cultural practices. We also think that these are equally important for shaping shared values in communities,” Bopape adds.
