Pistorius in club altercation

"Man aggressively interrogated my client," says Pistorius' lawyer.

Paralympic champion and murder-accused, Oscar Pistorius, was involved in an altercation at a club in Sandton over the weekend, confirmed his representative.

Anneliese Burgess admitted that her client was in the VIP section of the club when he was approached by a man, who has been identified as Jared Mortimer.

“The individual, according to my client, started to aggressively interrogate him on matters relating to the trial,” said Burgess of the incident in which Mortimer claimed the athlete was drunk.

“An argument ensued during which my client asked to be left alone. Oscar soon thereafter left the club with his cousin.”

The Paralympic athlete is charged with murdering his model girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, on Valentine’s Day last year.

Pistorius claims he mistook her for an intruder when he shot her dead through the locked door of his toilet while at his Pretoria home.

The State, meanwhile, claims he shot her following an argument.

Pistorius is a former Constantia Kloof pupil in Roodepoort on the West Rand just outside Randfontein.
