Armed suspects target business, guards tied up

Police launch manhunt as one suspect was caught on camera.

Randfontein police have launched a manhunt after three armed suspects targeted a local business recently.

Footage of one suspect involved in the business robbery has since emerged. The incident occurred last week Thursday (10 July) around 2.38am at a business property at Dancornia in Brandvlei.

According to Randfontein SAPS spokesperson Appel Ernst, “Three suspects attacked two security guards at the business premises prior to ransacking the shop.

“Information gathered at the scene indicates that a 38-year-old security guard and his co-worker were patrolling the business premises prior to the entire ordeal. As they returned to their guard room they were shocked to find the three suspects who pulled out knives and started assaulting them,” says Ernst.

She adds that the suspects overpowered the guards and later tied them up.

“They then continued to ransack the shop and took off with groceries and other valuable goods worth an undisclosed amount of money.”
