Pedestrian knocked over on the R28

Man tells paramedics he never saw the person walking across the road.

A man was injured when he was knocked over by a vehicle on the R28 earlier this morning (25 August). He was taken to hospital.

According to ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring, “The man sustained moderate injuries when the driver of the sedan apparently did not see the pedestrian walking across the road and ran him over.

“We are not certain what actually happened but the driver of the vehicle told paramedics at the scene that he didn’t see the pedestrian until he smashed into him,” says Meiring. “The driver did not sustain any injuries.”
