Burglar caught on camera

Suspect fails to open cash register so he goes for waiters' tips.

Police has released footage of a burglar caught on camera.

According to EPR Security operations manager Mac van Zyl, “The suspect is wanted in connection to a business burglary on one of the business premises on Main Road in Randfontein on 21 August in the early hours of the morning.

“We received a panic alarm on the day and dispatched our reaction officers to the scene. Upon their arrival the suspect already was gone but we found that he had broken the front glass door to gain entry to the restaurant.

“He tried to open the cash register but was unsuccessful and resorted to opening a money box next to the cash register that contained waiters’ tips amounting to approximately R400,” says Van Zyl.

The image since has gone viral and sparked a reaction from the community wanting to assist the police and EPR Security.
