Power outage not load shedding

Parts of Randfontein without power for more than 4 hours and counting...

The power outage residents of Randfontein experienced on Thursday was not because of load shedding.

According to the load shedding schedule released by the municipality on Tuesday, parts of Randfontein would only be affected as from 2pm. (View the full schedule here).

This was not the case on (Thursday 6 November) as parts of Randfontein was without power for more than five hours, as from 10am.

Asked why the power is off Lucky Chiya, spokesperson of the Randfontein Executive Mayor indicated, “This could be due to maintenance issues.”

A source close to the herald explained, “There is a problem with a substation in the area.”
