Burning car causes traffic delays

A burning car on Randfontein Road (R41) early on Friday caused a 30-minute traffic delay.

Two men had to abandon their morning commute when the vehicle they were travelling in went up in flames.

The men were travelling on Randfontein Road (R41) at around 7am on Friday (14 November) when their Renault Mégane caught fire.

Thandeka Modisa, a Hospital View resident witnessed the whole incident.

According to Modisa, many cars stopped and it did not take long for the police and traffic department to arrive at the scene.

“The Fire Department took 40 minutes to get here. The car already was burnt out when they arrived,” said Modisa.
