I now declare the Show open

RPA chairman welcomes and declares 2015 Randfontein Show officially open.

People might differ politically but there is one thing we have in common, that is the West Rand becoming one over the five days of the Randfontein Show.

Those were some of the words from Randfontein Publicity Association (RPA) chairman, Roy Harris during the VIP Cocktail Party and official opening of the Show on Wednesday night.

Among the VIPs were Randfontein Executive Mayor Sylvia Thebanare, the District Mayor, RPA Directors, RPA members and sponsors.

Singing his heart out to entertain the VIPs was Gert Koevert.

Harris added “The West Rand must grasp the opportunity and build on that so my grandchildren and yours can have a good future.

“With these few words I now declare the 2015 Randfontein Show open.”

Marcelle Mans show coordinator added “We expect thousands to arrive throughout the five days – the bulk of the people to arrive over the weekend with an expected 25 000 people on the Saturday.”

Some of the performances on Wednesday included:

• Triple S – Hip Hop Group from Randfontein township
