Ex-husband shoots former wife’s fiancé

'He entered her house while she was having dinner with her fiancé.'

A love triangle turning horribly sour could have been the reason for a man allegedly shooting his former wife’s lover while the two were having dinner last week Thursday.

Johan Kroch, general manager of local security company EPR told the Herald about the panic signal a reaction unit received from Smuts Street in Randgate last Thursday evening. On arrival an EPR reaction officer was informed that the neighbour’s ex-husband entered the woman’s house while she was having dinner with her fiancé.

The suspect allegedly fired two shots, which hit the fiancé in the face and chest. The suspect allegedly fled from the scene but dropped his identity book by which he later was identified. At this stage the victim’s condition is unknown.

It is believed the reaction officer contacted the Randfontein Police and emergency services. The case was handed over to the police for further investigation.

Local police is yet to comment.
