VIDEO: Woman, 62, wins 10km police fun run
Krugersdorp Cluster Police showed the public their soft side on casual day.

The Krugersdorp Cluster police gathered in all their numbers with various organisations to run for charity on Casual Day.
The fun started at President Hyper in Krugersdorp on a very cold, overcast day. 7am was the official starting time but the unexpected change in the temperature got participants under weather resulting in a slightly late start.
The first station to brave the cold was Randfontein at the scheduled starting time. These brave men and women were double-jacketed, sneakered and wrapped up in just about every warm item of clothing they owned.
A coffee was in order for the Herald and Randfontein police to pass the time while the other stations arrived. It wasn’t long before Eskimo-looking officers began to appear in casual clothing however, some officers held true to the image of police officers being made of steel and showed in shorts – some even in vests.
These officers were the ones who put on their running shoes to take on the 10km fun run to gather money for Baby Moses, a home for abandoned and disabled children. The run was set to end at the Krugersdorp Nature Reserve.
Before participants could put their best foot forward to test their endurance on the road, a special appearance was made by 62-year-old Dipuo Manake. She did a nearly 40 minute warm-up with all the participants to avoid injuries while running. Dipuo had them jumping up and down, left to right and running on the spot. She did all of this without breaking a sweat and later went on to win the 10km race.
All the proceeds of the race will go to the Baby Moses sanctuary.
