CANSA night-long Relay For Life coming soon
The relay is symbolic of cancer never sleeping.
The Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) will be hosting the Relay For Life fundraising event in Randfontein on the 27 November.
The event will be held at the Greenhills Stadium, where it will start at 6pm until 6am the next morning. The theme will be Kaleidoscope of colours.
This event is an international event that has been running across the globe since 1984.
CANSA Relay For Life is a community driven all night event where the community enters teams with 10 to 15 members at R750 per team. A stand at the stadium will be allocated to the team where, at the night of the Relay For Life they can camp till dawn the following day. They will be given the opportunity to raise funds for CANSA.
After our ceremonial sessions and after honouring our cancer survivors, various famous and uprising artists will keep everyone entertained throughout the night. On the track one member of each team will be relaying around the track all through the night acknowledging the fact that cancer never sleeps. The main focus will be on the more or less 100 attending cancer survivors which will be the guests of honour.
Raising funds and community involvement in Randfontein is imperative for CANSA to deliver these services to the cancer patients in Randfontein and surrounding areas. These cancer patients desperately need medical assistance.
Getting sponsors for the Relay For Life is extremely important as CANSA’s aim is to raise as much funds with the minimum expense in order for them to allocate the income back to the region and get CANSA care where it is needed.
CANSA calls on the community to enter a team.
