'Two other patients, both woman in their 30s, were found on scene with critical injuries.'

Two men have been killed and two others injured after two light motor vehicles collided head-on on the N12 outside of Fochville over the weekend.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene to find both vehicles sitting in the middle of the road. Debris from both vehicles were spread across the scene.

Paramedics assessed the scene and found that two men, one in each vehicle, had sustained fatal injuries in the collision. Unfortunately nothing more could be done for the patients and they were declared dead on scene.

“Two other patients, both woman in their 30s, were found on scene with critical injuries. Paramedics treated the patients for their injuries and provided the patients with advanced life support interventions.

“Once treated, both patients were transported to nearby hospitals. One was airlifted by the ER24 Helicopter while the second was transported by road ambulance,” said ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
