Rand West City Local Municipality Speaker Selina Moumakwe hosted a Women’s Month Commemoration on August 27 to bring the month’s celebrations to a close under the theme, ‘Celebrating the Strength, Resilience, and Legacy of Women through Art and Performance’.

The event brought together female leaders and representatives from community structures, non-governmental organisations, churches, businesses and various industries across Rand West City.

The gathering recognised women who continue to make meaningful contributions to their communities and society.

Through inspiring engagements, artistic expression and performances, the programme highlighted women’s achievements, resilience and leadership, as well as their role in social, economic and cultural development.

The commemoration also emphasised the importance of recognising women’s contributions across different sectors and their role in building stronger communities.
