IEB matric results announced

98,3 percent pass rate for IEB matrics.

The Independent Examinations Board (IEB) matric results are out and show a slight drop compared to 2014.

This year matriculants who wrote the IEB exams achieved a 98,3 percent pass rate. Last year, matriculants achieved a 98,38 matric pass rate.

A total of 10 212 full-time candidates and 563 part-time candidates wrote the examination from 200 schools across South Africa.

85,26 per cent of the candidates passed with a result that allows them to apply to study at a university while 11,66 percent of the candidates can apply to study a dimploma course.

Lastly, 1,37 per cent achieved entry to study at the Higher Certificate level.
