R12 000 already raised for family who survived serious car accident
The Beyl family gets a helping hand from a good Samaritan.
The Beyl family, who recently suffered serious injuries and a written-off car shortly after they’d purchased it, has been given a helping hand.
Dad Egbert Beyl, daughter Monique, and son Ruben were involved in a crash with an allegedly drunken driver in Roodepoort while on the way to fetch mom Lindie from work. Their newly-bought car was written off, before they could even make the first payment.
Although Egbert suffered head injuries and Monique sustained a broken leg, Ruben was fortunately not seriously hurt.
Marinda van den Berg, Lindie’s boss, has taken it upon herself to gather funds for the family in order for them to purchase another car. So far, she has managed to collect R12 000 for the family, and plans to keep going till she raises at least R25 000 – enough for a replacement car.
Marinda has planned a fundraising car-wash, which will take place at the Harlequins Rugby Club in Krugersdorp West on Saturday 21 May. Take your dirty car along, get out in the fresh air, and support her efforts!
She would like to thank everyone who has made a donation to date, saying “We’re well on the way towards changing the lives of the entire family”.
