Woman struck by lightning at work
Woman transported to hospital after she was electrocuted in the bathroom at work following a lightning strike.
A woman believed to be in her 30s was struck by lightning at her place of work at about midday on Friday, 9 December.
According to Chitra Bodasing-Harduth, ER24 spokesperson, “ER24 paramedics and other services attended to the incident.”
Bodasing-Harduth explained to the Herald on Monday morning that the woman was allegedly in the bathroom when she apparently stepped in a puddle of water and was electrocuted.
“When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene, they found the woman seated outside the business, in a passage. Her colleagues had allegedly carried her to this point.”
She added upon assessment it was found the victim had sustained moderate injuries. She was treated and transported to hospital for further medical care.
