West Rand youngsters chase Lions dreams
Young rugby talent from across the West Rand took to the field at Hoërskool Riebeeckrand for the final Golden Lions Regional Clinic, with players competing for a place in the Red Squad.
Wes Rugby hosted the final Golden Lions U11 and U12 Regional Clinic at Hoërskool Riebeeckrand on Saturday, August 29.
Learners from schools across the West Rand competed for an opportunity to impress selectors and earn a place in the Golden Lions’ Red Squad.
The clinic was the third regional assessment, with selectors carefully evaluating the young players as the different regions competed against one another. Those selected will form part of the Red Squad, a high-performance squad that will work with provincial coaches as the young players continue developing their rugby skills.
The names of the selected players will be announced by the Golden Lions on their media pages in due course.
