Paul Holder challenges businesses!

Well-known Randfontein businessman challenges others to keep it squeaky clean and tidy.

On Wednesday, 5 July, Paul Holder, who is well known for his business, Q-Bond Glue, told the Herald that he is challenging other business owners in Randfontein.

Paul is a proud Randfonteiner, a hardcore businessman and also a on-the-go sportsman. He is a family man, and a local and global businessman. He has a business as well as properties in Randfontein.

James Holder, Paul Holder and Quenton Rossouw, whose father Paul borrowed the TLB from.

Paul, who lives in New Jersey in the United States and also has business interests there, returned to Randfontein for a short period. He was delighted to find that the street in front of his business had been tarred. As a token of his appreciation to the municipality, he embarked on his own project.

Paul borrowed a TLB from Gerhard Botha, owner of Randfontein Truck Salvage and cleaned up the park on Foden Road where his business is situated. Trees and rubbish were removed, and the large rocks were moved out of the way and placed around the park, to ensure that nobody can use the park as a dumping site.

“I feel we as a community can all do our part. Every business owner could do this. It increases the value of the property, and your customers will notice an improved environment,” said Paul.

He believes that instead of the community complaining, everybody should jump in and make a difference.

To encourage other businesses to do so, Paul gave the Herald three cheques of R500 each. The cheques will be handed over to three businesses that can prove they took up the challenge by submitting before-and-after photos of the areas they had cleaned up.

So, Randfontein, the challenge is on. The photos must be sent by email to the Editor, Clinton Botha at randfonteinherald@caxton.co.za or handed in at the Randfontein Herald office. The Herald will write an article on the participating businesses’ efforts.

Please mark the subject as R500 Challenge.
