Seven year old killed in car crash

Girl, aged 7, died and three others were injured in tragic accident during the weekend.

A girl, believed to be 7 years old, was killed and three other people injured in an accident in which a vehicle overturned on the R501 in Carletonville on Sunday, 17 September.

Ineke van Huyssteen, ER24 spokesperson said, “When ER24 arrived on scene, another medical service was already in attendance. All of the patients were found outside the vehicle. Upon further assessment, it was found that a girl had unfortunately succumbed to her injuries and was declared dead on the scene.

“One patient was in a serious condition and two others sustained moderate injuries,” Van Huyssteen said.

ER24 and the other medical services on the scene transported the patients to nearby hospitals for further medical care.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet known, but the police were on the scene for further investigations.
