All areas of Randfontein are currently experiencing low pressure water supply, and some have no water at all due to a damaged pipe.

Tshidiso Tlharipe, the municipal spokesperson, has confirmed that a cable installation contractor hit one of the town’s huge supply pipes with an underground drill.

“The pipe will be fixed as soon as possible by the contractors at their own cost,” said Tshidiso.

The municipality would like to apologise to the community for the inconvenience caused, but cannot indicate when the water supply will be back to normal.
