Hollywood wants our own Jade-Miné!
Jade-Miné Vorster, 15, a talented model from Toekomsrus will return to the Big Apple after completing her schooling. She has been awared a scholarship at the New York Film Academy.
Fifteen-year-old Jade-Miné Vorster from Toekomsrus is making big strides in the world of modelling.
She jetted off to New York from 28 July until 9 August where she was scouted to return to the Big Apple once she has finished her schooling. Jade-Miné is a Grade 9 learner at Randfontein High School and gets her modelling and talent training from the Toekomsrus Philanthropic Foundation Arts Academy.
When Jade-Miné took part in the Miss Johannesburg competition at Silverstar, a talent scout spotted her and after several auditions and a boot camp, she was chosen to do dance, modelling and acting auditions in the Big Apple.
After the dates were set, Jade- Miné had residents supporting her by walking from Toekomsrus Police Station on Saturday, 15 July as part of a fundraiser for her. Luckily, Patrick Matembo, a businessman, helped her to finally get enough funds for her trip.
Jade-Miné said, “This is a journey of faith, I am truly blessed. Our family prayed for this.” She represented the Just You Model Company. She went to New York in a group with a number of other girls.
“Everything was so big and different [in New York], and we also went to Orlando,” she added. She underwent in-depth training in acting, dancing and modelling, and then performed a showcase at the New York Film Academy, and was surprised to be scouted.
“I am going back in two years’ time, after school, and the New York Film Academy will pay for a scholarship for me,” she said.
On top of all of this, she has been asked to go to Hollywood in December this year, from 13 to 17 December.
She and her family want to thank the community for supporting her in all she has achieved.
