Police back SA National Blood Service
South Africa's blood stock is currently desperately low. Guess who donated some blood? The police!
The West Rand Cluster Police showed their support to the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) by donating blood on Wednesday, 1 November.
Lebo Seatlholo, SANBS spokesperson said the police members came in their numbers to donate blood at a donor centre in West Porges that day. Among them were Adelaide Modise, Noble Shirinda, Mpolokeng Lehodi, Tshepiso Mashele, Captain Maluleke, Mbali Maduna and Tsietsi Thulo.
“Donors do not just donate blood, these remarkable human beings do so much more,” said Thapelo Maroane, the Clinic supervisor.
“Women who give birth, cancer patients, the person undergoing heart surgery and the festive season road-accident victims – all of them rely on blood donations. Their lives, their futures are at stake,” he said.
Unfortunately, South Africa’s blood stock is currently desperately low, which means that many lives are at risk.
