Hair-stylist helps needy kids
A local hair-stylist recently reached out to needy learners roaming the streets of Mohlakeng in bare feet.
Jimmy Mokolobate, a local hair-stylist, recently reached out to needy learners roaming the streets.
For Jimmy, it was a concern to see learners with torn shoes and bare feet walking in unpleasant weather conditions past his salon on the corner of Ralerata and Nhlapo Streets.

He then decided to do something about it on his 31st birthday.
Besides being able to donate shoes and uniforms to Phandulwazi Primary thanks to clients and friends whom he hooks up through social media and contacts directly, Jimmy also had the hair of kids who couldn’t afford a cut done for free.
“My wish is to see this initiative grow from strength to strength. The community as well as businesses should come to the party.”

He added that after reaching out to Phandulwazi, he noticed a need for boys’ underwear.
“I am once again calling on those who can help to come on board, either financially or by donating underwear.”
Jimmy would like to thank Ward 18’s councillor, Tsitsana Tlholoe, and Jane Khoza, the former Youth Coordinator at Rand West City Local Municipality and also non-executive member of the Gauteng African National Congress Youth League, as well as Pastor Tongo Mfundo Tongo for helping with the distribution of shoes and uniforms at Phandulwazi. He also extended his gratitude to principal Busisiwe Nkaba for her cooperation and positive response.

Those who want to be part of this initiative can contact him on 073 107 3314 or via his Facebook page jimmyjammokolobate.
