Body language is a way to express how one feels, without using words. In a workplace it could be stopping you from being promoted or growing in your career.
Here are a few examples that you should try to avoid doing:
Slouching in your seat indicates boredom or lack of interest. Be sure never to show boredom during a meeting. Failing to make eye contact with your colleagues and boss could be perceived as a lack of confidence or worse, that you are lying.
Keeping your eye on the clock is a dead giveaway, as this makes it clear to your superiors that you can’t wait to leave work. Rolling your eyes is definitely a sign of disrespect. A weak handshake is also to be avoided as it portrays you as someone with low self-confidence.
A smile is very important as it makes you look content and happy in your workplace.
