• 4 – 6 May: Joburg Shopping Festival
The Joburg Shopping Festival, which was inspired by the Dubai Shopping Festival, returns this year! For an exciting three days, Africa’s signature shopping event will be painting the town pink with shop-till-you-drop sales at Sandton City, Nelson Mandela Square, Rosebank Mall, East Rand Mall and Oriental Plaza. • 5 May: Soweto Party Bus Tour
This event consists of a Party Bus Tour, which picks its guests up in the Pretoria CBD and heads off to Soweto. The bus stops at various memorable places in Soweto, including the Soweto Orlando Towers; Hector Pieterson Square; and Vilakazi Street and then goes back to Pretoria for an after-party. • 5 May: Metal United World Wide in Randburg
Unite in the name of Metal. One date. One banner. Metal shows everywhere. You are invited to join the Metal United event. Johannesburg will be participating in the 2018 Metal United World Wide event, which sees over 50 cities from around the globe all hosting metal shows in one united front. Crazy fun, right? Then let’s all go! The line-up will include Major Affective Disorder, Hiraeth, Posthumous, PSordid and more. And there will be clothing stalls as well. • 5 May: Mother and Daughter Event in Sandton
