Eleven injured when taxi rolls

More than 10 people were injured when a taxi overturned in Westonaria yesterday.

Eleven people were injured when the taxi they were travelling in overturned on the N12 near the Glenharvie turnoff in Westonaria on Monday, 1 October.

Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson, said when emergency services arrived at the scene at about 3.25pm, passengers had already climbed out of the vehicle. They found a minibus lying on its side.

Upon assessment, paramedics found that all eleven patients had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate,” Meiring said.

He added that fortunately, there were no serious injuries or fatalities sustained.

“Patients were treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment,” Meiring added.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
