Constable Carmen Hendricks, Randfontein Police spokesperson, has confirmed that a business robbery took place at a business on Main Reef Road on Wednesday, 31 October at approximately 1.15am.
The manager was assaulted and employees were told to lie down while eight men looted the business, situated in the CBD.

“A 26-year-old woman alleged that she was about to lock the business premises when she and her colleagues were approached by eight men. One of them threatened them with a firearm and told them to lie down,” Hendricks said.
The perpetrators assaulted the manager and took cash from the till, various bottles of alcohol, a CCTV box, and a cellphone.

“The value of the items stolen and the cash is unknown. It is also not known if the suspects used a vehicle or fled on foot. The manager was taken to Leratong Hospital for medical treatment. No shots were fired,” Hendricks concluded.
