A 39-year-old suspect linked to a murder in Bhongweni, Randfontein in December last year was arrested in Eldorado Park.
Sergeant Carmen Hendricks, Randfontein Police spokesperson confirmed that the arrest was made at about 4.40pm on Tuesday, 9 April.
“Members of the Gauteng Tracking Unit have been working around the clock, trying to bring to book the suspect who allegedly killed two victims in Bhongweni on 5 December 2018. The suspect has since been on the run,” Hendricks said.
Hendricks added that the police received information that he suspect was arrested in Eldorado Park on 9 April. A pistol with 17 live rounds were also confiscated.
The suspect will appear in the Randfontein Magistrates’ Court soon.
Brigadier Mashole Jacob Manamela, Randfontein Police station commander, thanked the members for their hard work.
