Family injured in serious crash on Election Day

A family of four were transported to hospital after their vehicle collided with a truck between Fochville and Westonaria on Election Day.

Four people including a 10-year-old child were injured when a light motor vehicle collided with a truck on the N12 between Fochville and Westonaria on Election Day.

“ER24 paramedics arrived just before noon to find the four injured already being assessed by other services on the scene,” said Ross Campbell, ER24 spokesperson.

He added that two people, a man and woman believed to be the parents, had already been transported to a hospital in the area.

A 10-year-old girl was found to have suffered moderate injuries while a 20-year-old woman sustained serious injuries and required Advanced Life Support interventions. Both were taken to a private hospital in Randfontein,” Campbell said.

The Fire and Traffic Departments were on the scene for further investigations.
