Police continue with child safety programme
Police in Randfontein as well as other stakeholders continued to build on the work done during Child Protection Week.
The Randfontein Police’s Social Crime Prevention Unit and its Youth Desk partnered with members of the Rand West Public Safety Department, the Itsoseng Victim Empowerment Unit, and the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs’ (Cogta) Youth Desk to create awareness about child safety at Annatjie Day Centre on Tuesday, 11 June.

“We interacted and sang with 100 children to address issues such road safety, children’s rights, child labour, sexual abuse and exploitation and human trafficking,” said Constable Portia Mabala, the Randfontein Police Social Crime Prevention Officer.
Mabala added that 250 informative pamphlets containing safety tips were also distributed.
