Police warn learners about crime

Police have warned learners that crime must never be an option.

Police on the West Rand along with other stakeholders recently held a motivational talk, making it clear to learners of Ithuteng Secondary School in Brandvlei that crime must never be an option.

According to Constable Portia Mabala, Randfontein Police Social Crime Prevention officer, learners were also warned about bullying, drug use, gambling, gender-based violence, domestic violence, sexual offences, possession of dangerous weapons, assault and robbery.

We interacted with the learners as some were departing to a youth camp to commemorate Youth Month.

“The main objective of motivating the youth is to prevent them from committing crime. We reached about 100 learners,” added Constable Mabala.
