Fathers to be celebrated at library until the end of June
The Randfontein Public Library has put up a display in honour of Randfontein’s fathers, which will remain there until the end of June.
Father’s Day has come and gone but the Randfontein Public Library will be celebrating fathers for the rest of the month.
Library assistant, Michelle Devadasan, said that they have a special display in the library each month and for June they decided to put up a display in honour of Randfontein’s fathers.
“My father died four years ago and he was the king of our house, so I decorated our display with crowns fit for a king. Fathers are our kings and our superheroes,” she said.
She said that one father recently spent a few minutes reading every message on their special display and that he left the library with a big smile.
Michelle said many fathers bring their children to the library.
“It warms my heart to see that they are taking such good care of their children, so we want to honour them. Our fathers are special. We make a big deal about mothers every year but our fathers never get the attention they deserve.”
