Get to know a ‘Teiner’ #123 — Salome van Vuuren
The 123rd person in the Herald’s Get to know a Randfonteiner project introduces herself.
Meet our ‘Teiner’ of the week, 51-year-old Salome van Vuuren of Greenhills.
Asked what made her tick, she said as a hairdresser she enjoys helping people look more beautiful and feel good about themselves.
Salome, who lived in Port Elizabeth for seven years, has been back in town for the past 11 years.
“My love for Randfontein is what brought me back. I believe that once you drink Randfontein’s water you will never leave,” Salome said.
She considers herself a people’s person as it is the nature of her job, and said, “What you see is what you get”.
Between conversations and sharing jokes with her clients, Salome said they are just some of the little things she enjoys about being a hairdresser.
Salome concluded by saying, “I’m very happy to get up every day and do what I love. It’s a passion.”
