Winners, as well as those in second and third places, were crowned.
The 2019 Emerald King and Queen pageant, which aims at helping the Door of Safety for Abandoned Babies, was held on Saturday, 27 July at Hoërskool Jan Viljoen. The competition, which had eight categories, resulted in winners, as well as those who achieved second and third places, being crowned.

Coordinator of the pageant, Esmarilda Nortjé, said the organisation is in need of things such as nappies, baby porridge, baby formula and clothes.

“Our female categories ranged between 3 and 30 years, while the male categories covered four to 18 year olds,” Esmarilda added.

Esmarilda said numerous items of clothing were donated to the organisation, and thanked the community for its support.
