The Herald caught up with Filda Oliver, a teacher at Randfontein Primary School. The school celebrated Heritage and Arbour Months all in one day during October last year, with some big names in the police in attendance.
Among them were Major General Fred Kekana, the West Rand Police cluster commander and some of his management as well as various station commanders within the cluster who planted a yellowwood tree at the school.
Filda also spoke to us about the importance of trees and plants in our lives, in view of South Africans celebrating Arbour Week in the first week of September every year.
