Lovers put to the test with gruelling hike
Couples from Mohlakeng and the West Rand took part in a hike, motivational talk and games at the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden.
Couples from Mohlakeng and across the West Rand recently took on the third annual Proud Fathers Couples Hike at the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden in Ruimsig.
“It gets harder every time, but it’s worth it,” said Mandla Hamnca, the organiser.
One of the participants in the hike, Hope Majadibodu, said, “It was a challenge worth taking on and a fulfilling outing. We stay on the West Rand and I work for the West Rand District Municipality, but I was not aware of such an amazing venue in our region.”
Mandla added that interest in the gruelling hike is growing among couples, and they are looking forward to next year’s event.
He also thanked social worker Sidney Mabaso and Pastor Clement Matshitse who offered motivational talks and games after the hike.
