Gala dinner presents learners with awards
Grade 12 learners of Ithuteng Secondary School given trophies and guidance recently.
Diragatsang Youth Development, a non-profit organisation, hosted a gala dinner for Grade 12 learners at Ithuteng Secondary School to give them some guidance about what to do after completing school.
According to Mpho Kula, coordinator of the NPO, the event was also held to introduce programmes in which learners could get exposure to the many careers that are at their disposal.

“Unfortunately, when learners like these are situated in remote and rural areas like Brandvlei, they are often robbed of opportunities to explore their potential, simply because they lack information,” Mpho said.
Mpho went on to say that the three top learners in the school were presented with trophies for their academic excellence during the year.
“We are making an effort to restore hope in many of the learners, because many of them feel neglected, and have no idea where to go when they want to pursue a career.
Mpho said each of the top ten girl learners at the school was sponsored with a new dress and a new pair of shoes.
“We partnered with the Gogo Early Christmas Foundation to make the evening more appealing to the school. We are also planning to have a bigger and better gala next year, and every year after that,” Mpho said.
