Man killed when car rolled

'The body of the driver was found approximately 50 metres away from the light motor vehicle' – ER24.

A 43-year-old man was killed when his vehicle rolled at the R501/ R599 just outside Carletonville on Tuesday morning (5 November).

According to Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson they arrived at the scene at about 5.30am and found the body of the driver approximately 50 metres away from the light motor vehicle that was lying in a ditch on the side of the road.

“Medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life,” said Meiring.

According to Meiring, nothing could be done for the victim and he was declared dead.

“The details surrounding the incident are not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations,” he said.
