Six injured when taxis collide

A collision between two minibus taxis left six people injured early on Monday morning.

Six people were injured when two minibuses, one an Iveco and the other a Quantum, collided on the N12/ R28 highway in Westonaria in the early hours of Monday morning, 11 November.

Ross Campbell, ER24 spokesperson said two female passengers from the Quantum were found to have suffered critical injuries and two others moderate to serious injuries.

“They were stabilised before being transported to a private hospital in Randfontein for further care. Two women from the Iveco minibus had suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital in Carletonville. A further two patients were treated and transported by another service on the scene. The remaining patients declined transportation to hospital.”

He added that the fire department and police were on hand for further help and investigations.
