Young robbery suspect nabbed in Simunye

The suspect will appear in court on the charges.

A 21-year-old is expected to appear in the Westonaria Magistrates’ Court after he allegedly robbed a person of a cellphone and stabbed him. It happened on Sunday, 8 December in Simunye.

According to Sergeant Linkie Lefakane the assailant, armed with a knife, was arrested in the early morning of Thursday, 12 December.

He allegedly accosted the victim on Thomas Lethlake Street at midnight and demanded his cellphone.

“When the victim resisted, he was stabbed twice in the shoulder. The attacker took the cellphone and fled on foot. After being on the run, our members managed to arrest him during a detective operation,” Lefakane added.
