From rags to aspiring lawyer

Refiloe's tough childhood did not stand in the way of her dreams.

Former victim of abuse, Refiloe Segona, 19, will be pursuing her life-long dream of becoming a lawyer soon.

Refiloe is about to study Law at the University of the Western Cape (UWC); something she has dreamt about since she was a little girl.

This is a major achievement for her, considering that years ago she, her mom and sister arrived at the Riet Family Guidance Centre with nothing but the clothes they were wearing.
