Police need help finding murdered man’s next of kin

An urgent appeal has been made to the community to assist local police in locating the next of kin of a man who was found dead.

Police are looking for the next of kin of a murder victim.

Bekkersdal Police are urging the public to come forward and help locate the family of a man, believed to be in his 30s, whose body was found in Syferfontein, Zuurbekom on 7 October 2019.

“When the victim was found, he was wearing a light blue T-shirt and blue pants, and he was without shoes. He had injuries to his head and face. A case of murder was registered but the motive is unknown. Investigations are continuing,” said Sergeant Linkie Lefakane, Bekkersdal Police spokesperson.

Anyone who might have a missing relative or who might have information that could assist police in locating the victim’s next of kin is requested to contact the Bekkersdal Police on 011 755 8040/8069; alternatively they may contact the investigating officer, detective Constable Pikane Mongwe on 072 561 9417.
