Healthcare drive reaches Brandvlei
Residents of Badirele accessed a range of healthcare and government services as MEC Faith Mazibuko led the #Siyabaphilisa Outreach Programme.
Gauteng MEC for Health and Wellness Faith Mazibuko led the #Siyabaphilisa Outreach Programme in the Siyahlala informal settlement in Brandvlei on August 18.
The programme brought essential healthcare and government services directly to residents, including health screenings, HIV and TB testing, vaccinations, chronic medication support, oral healthcare, Pap smears and prostate-specific antigen screenings.

Residents could also receive administrative assistance, with the Department of Home Affairs helping with identity document and birth certificate applications, while SASSA provided social grant support.
The Gauteng Gambling Board conducted responsible gambling awareness, while the Ke Moja programme provided substance abuse prevention and awareness services.

According to the Department of Social Development, Ke Moja, meaning ‘I’m fine without drugs’, is the department’s national drug-awareness and prevention programme.

The outreach is aimed at making essential healthcare and government services more accessible to residents within their communities.
