Charles Makwakwa of the Congress of South African Students (Cosas) told the Herald outside court, “We are here to support one of our own and say ‘no bail for murderers’. Once the law has taken its course, the murder suspect’s sentence should not be a lenient one. Murderers do not have any place in society. No one can kill a student, a woman or a child and get away with it.”

The suspect is scheduled to appear in the Randfontein Magistrates’ Court again on Thursday, 27 February.
