No strike at local clinic, but there are issues …

A tweet about only two nurses allegedly working while the other staff members were on strike at the Mohlakeng Clinic has been rubbished by West Rand District Health Services.

The West Rand District Health Services denied that the Mohlakeng Clinic staff members have gone on strike.

This follows a video and tweet about only two Clinic nurses allegedly working while the other staff members were on strike.

Thuso Montwedi, spokesperson for Gauteng Health, however, did say that staff members have expressed dissatisfaction with their overtime payment, but that the issue has been raised internally with management of the Clinic.

“Management is working on resolving this issue, but services at the clinic will continue as normal and there are no disruptions,” Montwedi said.
