Women’s World Day of Prayer: Lynette Beer the chosen one

Show coordinator on why the Women’s World Day of Prayer remains a Show favourite.

Lynette Beer, a world-renowned thought leader on the subject of human behaviour is this year’s guest speaker at the Prayer Day event at the Randfontein Show.

According to Marcelle Mans, Show coordinator, the Women’s World Day of Prayer is a global ecumenical movement of Christian women and takes place in more than 170 countries on the first Friday in March each year.

“For the past 25 years, Randfontein Show has been hosting a Women’s World of Prayer and it has become a firm favourite with many ladies on the West Rand. Each year we have different speakers who very often move the almost 1 000 women in the tent to tears.”

The Theme for 2020 is ‘Rise! Take your Mat and Walk’ .

The topic for the morning is ‘Change your Perception, Change your Reality’. The Randfontein High School (RHS) Choir and Wildfire Worship team from the AFM Church will provide musical entertainment.

“This year’s Prayer Day beneficiary is Just In Time Baby Sanctuary, a place of safety for abused and abandoned babies – from newborn to two years,” said Marcelle.

This year there will be a nominal gate entrance fee of R20 for the ladies who enter the Show grounds between 7am and 8.15am. Thereafter, the full gate entrance fee of R90 will apply. The proceeds of the gate fee between 7am and 8.15am will go to the Baby Sanctuary.

For those who want to dress according to this year’s colour scheme, the colours are coral, black and white.
