Three injured in vehicle roll-over on the N12

Three people were injured when the vehicle they were travelling in rolled on the N12 near the R501 in Westonaria early on Monday morning (17 February).

Shawn Herbst, Netcare 911 spokesperson said a Netcare 911 rescue technician and Fire and Rescue Services used hydraulic tools to free one of the patients – an adult man – from the wreckage. He had sustained serious injuries.

“Due to the nature of his injuries, the Netcare 1 Specialised Helicopter Air Ambulance was activated to airlift him to a specialist facility.

“Two other victims, an adult man and a young girl, sustained moderate injuries. They were stabilised on scene before being transported by ambulance to hospital for further treatment,” Herbst said.
