
Randfontein Police are investigating a case of business burglary following a break-in at the Women Against Women and Child Abuse (WAWA) centre in Toekomsrus.
According to Enrique Bhana, manager of the centre, the break-in occurred on Sunday, 26 January. This came as a big shock for the centre, as it was their first experience of such a crime.
Sergeant Carmen Hendricks, Randfontein Police spokesperson confirmed that a case has since been opened.

“The investigating officer is waiting for the Local Criminal Record Centre for fingerprints; for now no one has been arrested.”
Bhana said that despite the major setback, activities at the centre continue as usual. “It is not easy to replace the stuff we have lost, but we are optimistic and carry on assisting people as always.
