Harmony miner killed in scraper winch-related incident at its Kusasalethu mine near Carletonville.

Harmony Gold Mining Company confirmed that one of its employees died in a scraper winch-related incident at its Kusasalethu mine near Carletonville on Friday, 21 February.

Peter Steenkamp, CEO of the company said, “Our sincere condolences go out to our colleague’s family, friends and fellow workers. We will reinforce – across our operations – the key elements of our safety journey: leadership, application of our risk management approach and attainment of a proactive safety culture.
