The Myburgh Foundation helps fight Covid-19

Local NGO, The Myburgh Foundation is on a mission to help the community fight Covid-19.

The Myburgh Foundation recently visited less fortunate families in Toekomsrus to educate them about the fight against the global Covid-19 pandemic.

Randy Christian, co-founder of the Foundation, said people were taught about the importance of maintaining good hygiene and remaining safe during the 21-day lockdown.

“We also sanitized their hands and offered to disinfect their homes,” Randy said.

He added that doors, surfaces, cupboards and handles were disinfected. They also donated food items.

“This is solely because we understand their daily struggle to put food on their tables, let alone buy expensive sanitizers, disinfectants and other necessities,” Randy said, adding that the Foundation aimed to keep the community healthy and informed.

NOTICE:

On 27 March 2020, Randfontein Herald published a letter written by Desmond Dickson in which he made allegations about Mr Christian’s past, but also applauded him for the good work he is doing now. The publication has offered Mr Christian the opportunity to reply, and will publish same once it has been received.
